Unfortunately I am writing this post on the eve of when my city – New Delhi has been rocked by 5 bomb blast within 45 minutes. The latest news show that at least 3 other live bomb has been diffused. It so shocking for me, and today I realized how minimal our lives are becoming, and how strong these terrorist organizations are becoming. I am sorry to mention these terrorist as an organization, however purely seeing by the way they are conducting their operations it seems that this is a well manned or well planned organization.
The location they choose – firstly, places that are crowded; secondly, places that are most visible to the entire world. So I would say high in terms of getting them high publicity – Branding. Then the claim responsibility through a well articulated email. They choose the second Saturday of the month, when most of the offices are closed. They choose the most appropriate time when people are in the markets – evening, around 1800 hrs. Above all they choose the right months, which are the festive months in India. They know how to come in and get out. While I am writing another live bomb has been defused. So the grand total is 5 bomb blasts + 4 live bombs defused – 9 in total.
Today was the first day when I realized how you feel when someone near to you is in proximity of such an act. My wife was right on the road where there was 1 blast and two defused. With phone lines jammed and no means to get in touch with her, it was few moments that I would put into my history book of worst moments in my life. However, god graciously she is fine and safe. But these are the moments that makes you realize how much few people in your life are so important. All my condolences with people who have lost their loved once’s and also my wishes for quick recovery for those who have been injured.
It is a shame for me to articulate this post, as I love my country (this is the place where I was born and belong) but now I am telling the world some gruesome tales of my “home”. However with this I would like to pray and wish for better world. No one should ever loose to an act of terrorism. It’s a shameful to know that how few people (rather terrorist) decides the fate of 000’s of others including small children’s, and how much my country has suffered to the act of terrorism.
This is surly not a good weekend. My prayers and wishes with people who have succumbed to this gruesome act of cowardliness.
